Our prayers have been answered! The most popular kind of bao is now on Kylie’s menu.

Bao wow!

Our friendly, neighbourhood bao shop has just introduced a Char Siu Bao and we can’t be happier. When the shop started business over a month ago, Char Siu Bao is what we had hoped they would start with. But alas, we had to bide our time before this popular steamed bun stuffed with barbecued pork made it to Kylie’s menu. Kyle’s version promises a charred pork belly with Hoisin glaze, with mixed apple, scallion and sesame seeds, and with a generous braise (all those pork juices) drizzle.

Take a bao

The pork belly was tender, generously portioned and slathered with a sticky, sweet glaze (courtesy the Hoisin sauce). The slivers of green apple and scallions added a nice crunch and the extra porky drizzle was meaty and complimented the bland bao. And all this for just INR 180.
