Winning for

A beautiful marriage of global dishes and cooking techniques using homegrown local produce, meat and seafood

What we ate

We started of with a hearty pumpkin and ginger broth that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pan-seared Atlantic scallops came sitting atop a bed of mash topped with crispness bacon and an underlying hand of a light meaty jus. The delicate scallops went perfectly well with the mashed potatoes. We also loved the salad of thinly-sliced Salt Baked Beetroots tossed up with crunchy arugula, candied walnuts and Bocconcini. The Grilled Coimbatore Pork Chops {tender to the T} were served with a beautiful tangy tamarind and chilli sauce and went rather well with plump steamed Mangalorean Sannas. But the Capelletti was our favourite with the intensity of the Goat Cheese hitting our palates with each bite of the pasta {from the Italian region of Modena and shaped like a little hat} and the underlying layer of stir fried mushrooms added a touch of umami to the dish.

Drama in the dessert

Dessert here is a spectacular affair with every sweet dish comprising many complex layers with surprising flavours, textures and plenty of drama. Don’t believe us? watch the video below. Our Hazelnut Rocher came plated beautifully, with a hazelnut filled chocolate shell {created to resemble a Ferrero Rocher} served with an extremely salty ice cream {more on that later} and surrounded by flower petals created with chocolate. Once a small jug of warm Creme Anglaise was poured into the plate, the petals opened up like magic making the dessert almost a work of art {Think Masterchef levels of skill}. The highly salted ice cream helped to cut down all that sugar and richness from the cream, chocolate and hazelnuts.

So, we’re thinking…

The new menu is a must-try simply because how well it brings together global and Indian flavours and when local ingredients are involved in creating such high drama, we are sold.
