The real spirit of Munich comes to Town with the OktoBierefest

Ten-second takeaway

From Pilsner to Kolsch, legendary brewmaster Paul Hubmann kicks off the OktoBierefest this Saturday at The Biere Club's properties in Vittal Mallya Road and Whitefield. Plus, sausages and roast to really seal the deal.

Lager than life

Never mind if you’re not in the middle of Bavaria guzzling down boots of beer, because thanks to Paul Hubmann {of the Bonrawd, Egger and Tucher brewery fame} there will be plenty to celebrate here too. Apart from the customary kolsch, reminiscent of a pale lager and the Oktoberfest lager, he’ll also be serving up fresh pilsner and Bavarian Hefeweizen or wheat beer.

Meat and greet

Nothing short of a carnival, as it should be, the high spirits will be boosted by live music and traditional food to celebrate the Volksfest. From the streets of Germany, frankfurters and meat loaf make it to the menu. But it is the Weisswurst {authentic Bavarian sausage made from minced veal and pork back bacon} which should be priority along with roast chicken in tandem with sauerkraut (sour cabbage) and mustard. If you think about the whole set up, it’s almost as if you’re better off in Bangalore city, we say!
