If you are looking for a place that’s away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Kochi, yet easily accessible, then The Quiet Corner is where you need to check in.

The Quiet Accommodation

Fort Kochi with it vibrant cultural heritage is an ideal place to spend the weekend exploring everything that the town has to offer — from Jew Street to the colonial-era monuments and the famed Chinese Fishing Nets. And away from the line of hostels and home stays that line the streets is The Quiet Corner guesthouse. This is a house turned into a guesthouse, with the hosts living in one part of the property and the place is perfect for the weekend getaway with bae or even the fam-jam. Solo travellers are welcome too. The property is encapsulated by gardens on both the sides, giving the whole place a rather fresh and green vibrancy. Dotting the gardens are pretty benches and tables with leaves all over them. You might find it untidy, but for us, they are Instagram-worthy aesthetics. Two doggies, who double up as customer service reps, roam around the property or laze around by the verandah most of the time. A ruffle on the head or a quick tummy rub comes highly recommended.

Happy Space

The guesthouse is spacious with lots of windows in and around the house — very typical of Kerala houses — and come mornings, you will see sunlight peeking through every nook and corner. Get comfortable by the sofas or the bean bags and sip on morning coffee brewed in the kitchen. If you are up for it, feel free to use the kitchen to whip up breakfast or Maggi. The rooms are furnished with the basic amenities and come with attached bathrooms. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, are what make up the sleeping space. The rooms are priced at INR 2,609 {for two people} per night, which comes to about INR 1, 304 plus tax.

Biking Around

The property has bicycles to rent at minimal rates and we suggest you take advantage of this offer because exploring Fort Kochi on a cycle is another experience altogether. You could cycle to the Parade Ground that’s nearby or to the Chinese Fishing Nets in the vicinity. Cycling alongside the Fort Kochi harbour is also recommended.
