Ten-second takeaway

A three-day event for all things related to the subject, Typography Day has a lineup of workshops, talks and an exhibition.

Type face

Organised by Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in collaboration with Industrial Design Centre (IDC) and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), the ninth edition of Typography Day is based on the theme, Typography and Education. With workshops on typography and calligraphy during the first day and an international conference featuring speakers from around the globe over the next two days, the event is for students, faculties, professionals, NGOs or just about anyone interested in the study of typeface designs.

Exploring typography

Sign up for over 10 workshops by experts in typography. With interesting topics like Storytelling and Narrative through Typography, Intro to Western Type Design and Experiental Typography, these sessions are perfect for students from varied backgrounds. The first day will also include a meet on Research in Typography.

Apart from keynote speakers, Katherine McCoy (graphic designer and educator from USA) and Muthu Nedumaran (founder of Murasu System Sdn Bhd which develops digital typefaces), the two-day conference will have international, national and student speakers, elaborating on subjects as varied as Challenges of Teaching Typography, Family Monograms and Kannada Typography. Once you're done attending the talks, don't forget to check out the exhibition of selected posters and typographic works of students and faculty members from design institutes.
