Ten-Second Takeaway

Tasseled crop tops, tie-and-dye long jackets and anti-fit palazzos, sum up clothing brand Unees Bees’ design aesthetic. Perfect for summer.

Easy, Peasy, Breezy

We first spotted the label Unees Bees at Indiranagar boutique Timri. We were enthralled by the brand’s take on light, cotton crop tops that came in pretty stripes, tassels, and even pockets in the front. The tops were versatile and could be paired with sarees as well as skirts and pants. Other multitasking pieces included a long jacket fashioned out of tie-and-dye fabric, and with adorable pom pom tie ups, all part of their latest collection called Phool Chadi. Other highlights include this floral short dress and this leaf printed slit maxi.

Unees Bees, founded by Ankita Brahmbhatt, is an independent clothing label from Vadodara with a strong focus on traditional techniques but with a contemporary aesthetic. The name Unees Bees derives from a typical Hindi phrase, which means a minor difference {also jargon used typically in tailoring}. Expect indigo dyeing, block prints and tie-and-dye in their collection. Keeping true to their aesthetic, the brand also does colourful sarees, beautiful scarves, tops, kurtas, palazzos as well as funky waist coats, which experiment with geometric and floral patterns, block prints and dyeing techniques.
