Panchavati Gaurav’s vegetarian thali is a mix of Gujarati snacks, flavourful daals, seasonal veggies, and a nod to regional Indian food.

Who Is It For?

For vegetarians, thali lovers, and those who enjoy regional cuisine, and like to eat lots of it.

What's The Ambience Like?

We visited the VR Bengaluru restaurant, and the ambience is nothing home to write about. There is a thali on display at the reception itself so that you can see and make a decision whether to commit or not. The seating comfortable, because thalis mean lots of food, and hence you need to relax.

Must Eat

The vegetarian thali, of course. It comes with at least 12-15 dishes. While the weekday thali is a regular one, weekends are deidcated to special thalis.

How Was My Experience?

The service is really fast here. As soon as you are ready, the servers start ladling out chutneys {green chutney, lasoon and pickle}. Then a white dokhla is served and a pakora. We especially loved this dry coconut and dal, sweetish starter, and the sugar and wheat flour crumble. Then comes the dal batti churma sprinkled with loads of ghee. Once you are done with the snacks, you can tuck into tangy kadi, two kinds of dal, a paneer dish, spicy cooked sprouts, a bitter gourd dish cooked with lots of onions. Then there is our favourite part, the perfectly made mini rotlas, theplas, and parathas drizzled with lots of ghee.

There is also curd rice, plain rice and masala rice, plus a glass of buttermilk. End your meal with a fruit custard and home style gulab jamuns. The thali is obviously unlimited, but cannot be shared.

Price: INR 400 for weekday thalis, and INR 450 for weekend thalis.

#LBBTip

On Tuesdays, you can eat Panchavati’s thalis at only INR 250.
