New in town

Barely three weeks old, Venegar, an all-new city-based online food startup, caught our attention for their choice of cuisine. Started by the couple, Prasad Thimmaiah and Tara Thimmaiah along with their friend, Girish, the service is purely dedicated to Coorgi meaty delights. Identifying the lack of online options for the cuisine, the trio got together a team of delivery staff and an experienced Coorgi chef to set forth with their venture. Currently operating out of a single kitchen {located in Malleswaram}, they deliver to any place within an 18kms radius and hope to expand soon. With a menu listing out around 10-12 dishes, they follow two cooking schedules in a day, all to make sure you get fresh and authentic food.

Meaty treats

Choose from signature dishes of the region like Kadambuttu {rice dumplings}, Noolputtu {string hoppers} and Paaputtu {Coorgi-style rice cake}. Pair them up with flavourful options like the Pandi Curry {their most popular dish, we hear}, Chicken Curry or Pork Chilli, among others. Their combos {includes three dishes} absolutely steal the show with their reasonable rates and generous portions. You get options like Kadambuttu with Chicken Curry and Chicken Pepper Fry, Rice with Pork Curry and Pork Dry Fry, and Ghee Rice with Egg Masala and Egg Bhurji. Or keep it simple and sign up for a monthly subscription, and get their specials delivered as per the daily changing menu. While you might have to excuse the delivery time issues they are currently trying to resolve, the folks at Venegar try to make up for it with the fresh and tasty food they serve.
