My Homework Ate My Dog

What Makes It Awesome?

Theatre Dots is a training centre that helps children develop fluency and clarity of speech for effective oral communication, using theatre as a medium. They intend to improve articulation, voice, pronunciation and rhythm of speech amongst children of ages 7 to 18 years. They impart 4 different levels of their communication program across two centres in Bellandur and Sarjapura - Outer Ring Road. Operational since 2012, they put up one theatrical performance every year in order to showcase the learning across their batches.

This year they have picked up a topic which is of great relevance to our present education system and that’s Homework. The play ‘My Homework Ate My Dog’ shows the story of a Science teacher Douglas Kobeankeaneski. For him, nothing greater than "The Hour of Desperation", that magical hour before his immensely important, grade devastating assignment is due on Friday the 13th of October. He hasn't changed the past 23 years and is not open to change now. He is not cruel but slightly twisted.

Each year, his students frantically scramble to come up with their method of escape, from this large and very tough assignment. This year is no exception, as they trot out with a series of myriad excuses, including the greatest of them all: My homework Ate My Dog, each excuse is not just unique in its reason but the play promises to leave the audience with much food for thought.

Intrigued?? Then go watch it with your family and get enthralled by the performances of these talented children.
