Directed by Rajiv Krishnan and performed by the Chennai-based theatre group, Perch, Under The Mangosteen Tree brings together seven popular short stories by Malayalam writer, Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Woven together in a non-linear narrative, the common underlying themes include love, pathos and humour, along with Basheer as a character. Whether it's the witty and satirical, The World Renowned Nose {featuring a character with an unnaturally long nose} or Walls in which an imprisoned Basheer falls in love with his inmate, Narayani, this one's bound to keep you engrossed.
