Supposedly India’s first tea boutique, San-Cha Tea Boutique on Lavelle Road is now stocked with plenty tea. Black, white, green or herbal, you’ll always find your cup of tea here!

Brew And Sip

Walking into San-Cha Tea Boutique is like tumbling down the rabbit hole straight into the Mad Hatter’s tea party from Alice In Wonderland — wall shelves lined with all sorts of tea, pretty tins, gift bags, and boxes, and whimsical yet functional decor. Think massive kettles, even larger teacups {who doesn’t want that one!}, and tea cosies, ornate trays, dainty infusers, pitchers, mugs and hand-painted tea sets which you can buy.

Divided into broader categories of White, Green, Black, and Chai, the boutique offers over 35 kinds of tea that are handpicked by experts. The tea is organic and sourced from tea estates in Bengal. They even supply to the PMO’s office we hear and pack teas for state visits. If you don’t know what to sip on {the sheer variety might confuse you}, a trained sales team will assist you in choosing the right brew.

Black Or White?

We’re currently in love with their Matcha Green which makes a perfect tea latte. The Lapsang Souchong black tea is smooth, smokey and a lot while a good whiskey. A stark contrast, pick the Moonlight White is light, fruity and slightly floral — perfect to pair with a romance novel when it’s raining outside. There are also plenty of interesting blends like Lemongrass-Eucalyptus, Peppermint White, and even Rose and Lemongrass.

For something stronger, and Indian, pick from their black teas and chai. The Masala Spiced Chai is all sorts of yummy with cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger — Christmas in a teacup. Well, almost! Looking for something hardcore, the Darjeeling First Flush should do the trick. If you’re used to English tea, the Londoner’s Earl Grey is ace.

You can sip as many teas that catch your fancy, and the store will brew it for you for free, but as a sampler. No need to go there for your afternoon cuppa, guzzle down samples, and leave! Not that you will, because once here, you’re going to want to buy truckloads to take back home. Why? Because tea is the elixir of life!
