Lowdown On The Ambience

Wholly Pita has chosen a strategic location in one of side lanes off Jyothi Nivas College in Koramangala. This means footfalls are guaranteed especially if you are a snack and go kind of place. The restaurant comes with  a relaxed decor with picnic benches and tables, along with a grungy graffiti on the walls. There’s also vintage posters framed on the walls.

Pita Pan

Wholly Pita wants to show you that there’s more to just consuming good ol’ pita and hummus. The menu is inspired by international flavours, and the fillings come wrapped in soft and freshly-made pita rolls. Our favourite, the Caribbean Jerk Roll, is tender chicken marinated in spices and grilles, and served with pickled veggies, toum {a Middle-Eastern sauce made of garlic and olive oil}  and good ol’ hummus. For vegetarians, the Peri-Peri Paneer is a spicy and smokey number, thanks to prepping it on a lava rock grill. The team are especially proud of their in-house peri-peri sauce, and can be ordered with the chicken pita roll as well. Other unusual fillings include Cuban Spiced Chicken, Moroccan Chermoula with Mushrooms and even the Greek Chicken Gyros, which is apparently slow cooked.

More Than Just Fries

Forget fries, meet Poutine, a Canadian take on French fries, which comes drenched in cheese and toppings like sauces, sunny side up eggs, cheddar cheese and more. Our favourite was the Loaded Schezwan — fries topped with fiery Schezwan sauce, grilled chicken and Chedda. The other delectable combinations include, roast gravy, paneer, and chicken sausages.

So we’re thinking…

A surprising selection, priced at a steal – the pita rolls melt in your mouth and are a good excuse to snack on, or even enjoy as meal with their combo menu. Apart from pita rolls, we liked the wide selection of sides from wings, peri-peri chicken, salads and sauces.

If you want a healthier option replace your regular pita bread with whole wheat pita.
