Lowdown On The Ambience

Part dhaba and part rooftop, Zero Mile Punjab’s simple, no-fuss ambience allows you to focus on what’s important – the food. The walls end at chest-height, allowing a cool breeze through at night {no need to cry for air conditioning now}, while the roll-down blinds come down in the day to keep out the ever annoying summer sun.

What’s On The Menu?

Stuffed in methi, cheese and mint chutney, the creamy Paneer Kastoori Tikka is best had with a squeeze of lime and some crunchy onions. Marvelling at how rich, creamy and fresh the paneer tasted, we cleaned out the plate in record time. A quick swig of the refreshing Pudine Ka Pani, and we were ready for more. Next up was Murgh Chatkora {supposedly an in-house original}, an absolute cracker of a dish, with chicken marinated overnight in a secret blend known only to the chef. Decidedly luscious, each cut of the large, grilled chicken pieces melted in our mouths as fast as ice cubes during peak summer. You can bet we’re going back for this one.

Deciding we needed something lighter for the main course we asked for the Nawabi Subzi {a mixed vegetable of sorts} and Bhuna Murg with kulchas {Amritsari, Methi & Masala} from the menu. The Nawabi Subzi, mercifully lighter than the starters, paired well with the Methi Kulchas. This we washed down with sips of the Shikanjee: citrusy and sweetened with a bit of Rooh Afza. The Bhuna Murg capped off our epic meal, a little sweetness finding its way into the zesty gravy, enjoyed best with the Amritsari Kulcha.

So, We’re Thinking…

The portions here are huge, and for the solo diner, that could be a little daunting. Because of its rooftop location, it might get hot in the day, so we suggest you head to this new spot for dinner, with a few friends in tow.
