What Makes It Awesome
Tanushree is from Gujarat and that explains her love for khadi and handloom. After completing her fashion design course, she combined her love for fashion and khadi and that is how Buxa, her label was born.
Under Buxa, Tanushree makes summer dresses, skirts, blouses, tops, etc, in khadi and handloom only. She sources her fabric from government khadi shops or directly from the weavers from different art and craft expositions or textile expositions that take place in Gujarat. As for handloom fabrics, they are mostly sourced from a shop in Ahmedabad named Source It Right. Tanushree is a perfectionist, we say that because she doesn't stop with just designing the attire but goes ahead and stitches them by herself. One of her fast-moving pieces is the layered skirt. They are fun, quirky and extremely versatile, says Tanushree. Pair them with a simple white shirt for a day look, with a dressy crop top for a perfect evening look or an embroidered blouse for an Indian fusion look. Woohoo! Don't forget to check out her palazzo sarees, summer dresses, and crop top sets.
At a time when Western brands and labels are taking over the market, here is Buxa which boasts of completely being made in India. Tanushree urges that this is her way of giving back to the country by buying only handloom and khadi fabrics so it helps the weavers and the craft of hand weaving which is a big part of Indian heritage.
The casual wear begins from INR 1000 and they plan to open their design studio soon. So what's in your Buxa?
