Give Your Kitchen A Break And Head To This Mess In Valasaravakkam For Unlimited Meals
South Indian vegetarian meals, sweets and savouries, special orders for festivals
What Makes It Awesome
With just four tables, this tiny mess is small and has limited seating. But don't go by the look of the place, the meals they offer tastes almost like homemade food and leaves you wanting for more. Expect the staples like sambar, rasam, curry, kootu (changes every day), a crispy applam. But it was the paruppu podi (powder to be mixed with rice) that took away the game. Usha, the owner of the restaurant tells us that they have close to 15 podis that are circulated every week. From angaya podi, kothamalli podi, manathakkali, sundaikkai vaththal podi and navadhanya podi, there's a variety to choose from. For dinner, they have all tiffin varieties like dosa, rasam sadam, idli, ada avial, etc. There is also a sweet shop close to the restaurant that serves hot snacks like kozhukattai, different varieties of boli, kuzhipaniyaram, bajji, pakoda, etc. Don't miss their mouth-watering sweet section. We tried jeera boli, an original creation that is filled with milk sweet and has a sugar coating. Find the place full during lunch hours and evenings are so much better with their freshly-made snack items.
They also offer catering services for small scale events and prepare special savouries during festivals.
