What Makes It Awesome

Chennai's seated bar scene is suddenly all lit and one of the latest additions to this list is Kommune. Having opened doors very recently, this place is the perfect mix of modern meeting comfort. With an open sitting setup that allows people to have their own privacy and also interact with others, this place is setting new standards for seated bars, welcoming both groups and stags alike.

Spread across three levels, they even have a reading space attached to the bar. Kommune also has a huge 16 feet screen where you can enjoy games with your mates. Their top most storey comes with tables and couches as well single tools for stags. Their sound system deserves a special mention as it allows you to enjoy loud music while also being able to hear the person sitting next you. No more screaming in vain.

As for their menu, they have some delectable appetizers and mains. We tried their Nachos bowl that comes with fresh salsa and a cream cheese dip. For mains, we opted for their vegetarian platter that comes with paniyaram, Zaitooni Paneer and Ananas (Pineapple) Kebab and avocado fries (simply out of the world). My companion went for their Peppery prawns along with Mutton with sambal sauce and Mediterranean-style chicken. Tasting as good as they look, we collectively felt satisfied with the spread.

Their cocktail menu also exudes great attention to detail featuring fancy drinks, all presented beautifully. We tried their Figaro that comes with figs, mix of rum and nannari sherbet and their Red Rabbit that comes with vodka, nannari and homemade bitters, both tasting super refreshing. If you love Bailey's, you must try it out here as they make it in-house. All in all, we love the details and the overall ambience of the place and hope to make a visit soon.
