What Makes It Awesome

This temple was built by King Dantivarman Pallava in the 9th century and was expanded by the 16th-century Vijaynagar rulers. It's a huge complex with two towers, one in the eastern and the other in the western directions. The main deity is Parthasarathy who is the Venkata Krishan avatar which means in Sanskrit, ‘charioteer of Arjuna’. It also has all the five incarnations of Lord Vishnu and is 61st Divyadesam of 108 Divyadesams (holy abodes of Lord Vishnu).

What's My Pro Tip?

On an auspicious day don't miss the temple prasadam, the famous Iyengar puliodhare (tamarind rice) and sarkarai pongal (sweet rice pudding).

Anything Else?
