If you’re looking to savour dishes from across the globe, new restaurant Monte Nero in Nungambakkam might just have something you’re looking for.

What Makes It Awesome

You’re going to find it hard choosing from the menu at this restaurant which was launched earlier this month. Although the ambience is simple (black chairs and tables against white walls), the menu is a lot more colourful. They have everything from burgers and sandwiches to Schezwan noodles and even vindaloo and biryani (we weren’t kidding when we said they have almost everything).

Sure you can go ahead and have Shrimp Bisque, Feta Salad, Tenderloin Burger or Garfield’s favourite comfort food — lasagna but why not try the Stromboli also known as Volcano Bread and named after an actual volcano in Sicily. A savoury turnover made of pizza dough filled with sauces, cheese, and meats (if you’re a non-vegetarian), The “volcanic eruption” we think refers to the saucy, cheesy goodness that overflows after you take a bite. And you even get a serving of crispy fries. There are Vegetable Stromboli and Spinach Stromboli (for INR 240 and INR 230) and Pepperoni and Chicken (for INR 340 each).

If you’re feeling adventurous try the Chocolate Pizza — pizza with chocolate sauce, choco-chips, white chocolate, rainbow sprinkles and what’s on instead of melted cheese? Gooey marshmallow! Sounds intriguing.
