What's Happening

Puppet shows were common in the 90s. But not so much now. Enter the South Indian Puppet Festival, organised by DakshinaChitra, which will introduce millennials to our traditional art form and artistes and troupes who specialise in the art forms. The artistes are from the four Southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. One of the highlights of the festival includes Katta Bommalaattam by K Periyasamy and troupe from Sri Rama Krishna Bommalattam from Salem. Tholu Bommalaatta is from Andra Pradesh, Tholpaavakoothu is from Palakkad and Gombiyaata is from Karnataka.
