What Makes It Awesome

Remember those fancy brunches the characters of Gossip Girl attended? This brunch is pretty much like that, and Tao Of Peng, a Pan-Asian restaurant in InterContinental Resort is winning for its decor, presentation, and menu! They’ve got Chinese, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese cuisine. The decor is great - dim lights, spacious tables, and aesthetic walls.

We tried their curated menu which has a good mix of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The plate was a greyish white, round, granite-type material decorated with a flower, edamame beans, and sauces. For starters, we had the Truffle Edamame and Mushroom Dumplings. The former was super creamy and the latter had us nom nom all the way! We loved the Cheung Fung whose outer layer is tender and you can bite into crunchy goodness! The with wrapped pomegranate is a salty sweet treat. Non-veg lovers try the Prawn Har Gow, Prawn Red Rice Cheung Fung, and Californian Roll. These starters were served with red bell pepper sauce and burnt chilli oil (cooked for four hours) which were both delish.

The grill section is incredible, and they’ve got a live counter which served us. The grilled veggies (zucchini, bell pepper, and cottage cheese) were charred just the right amount and the yellow and green zucchini, in particular, were juicy. They’ve also got Whiskey Aged Tenderloin, Prawn Skewers, and Vietnamese Fish Asian Tomato Relish. We had Cantonese Fried Rice (INR 425) for the main course, and Tao Of Peng is one of the best places for this dish. Cooked to perfection, adding a dollop of the burnt chilli oil will leave you licking your fingers.

We also had the hand-tossed Hofan noodles, Mapo Tofu, which is soft as jelly! Tao Of Peng has a unique 12-hour cooked Pork Belly and Malaysian Lamb Rendang as well. For drinks, they’ve got everything from French and Argentinian wines to Beers and Cocktails. For dessert, you can taste Mandarin ice cream and vodka-infused ice cream with batter-fried sesame spheres with a dark chocolate filling priced at INR 450. The brunch is priced at INR 1,999 (exclusive of taxes).
