Looking For Inspiration? Here's Why You Have To Attend This Year's TEDxChennai

Shruti posted on 22 February

We admit it. We’re slightly addicted to watching TEDx speakers. Their stories are inspiring and riveting, some even heart-wrenching. These people are the real deal. Game changers in whatever field they’re pursuing and there really isn’t anything more inspiring is there? This March, Chennaites get a chance to attend TEDxChennai and if you don’t know already we’ll tell you why you should go.

Watch Incredible Speakers LIVE

The crux of the event is definitely getting to witness the under 18-minute talks, of course. This year’s theme revolves around the topic: Revolution and you’ll find experts from across various genres such as Artificial Intelligence, Agriculture, Medicine, Cryptocurrency, Art, Entrepreneurship and more! And there are going to be over 15 speakers!

Some of the incredible people you’ll get to listen to are Aditi Prasad COO and CIO of Robotix Learning Solutions, who was a keynote speaker at UNESCO’s Policy Forum Cracking the Code: Girls’ Education in STEM, in Bangkok last year. She’s working to inspire young kids to learn to code and develop real-world solutions. There’s also educationist Uma Venkatachalam who has been working tirelessly to provide free education to the less-privileged {since 1987!}, food traveller Rakesh Ragunathan of Puliyogare Travels, and Gitanjali Rao who is just eleven years old and has been honoured as America’s  Top Young Scientist for inventing a quick, low-cost test to detect lead-contaminated water. Talk about awe-inspiring!

Get To Interact With The Change-Makers

While the main event is on March 11, there are a couple of pre events you can check out as well on March 4 and 9 for people in the corporate and startup world. Need some inspiration to start your own thing, head to one of these conferences happening at the same venue. On the main day, after the talks you can try catching the speakers to have a quick chat; there’s also a dinner pass that you can book online to talk to them in a more refined setting over a gala dinner.

Read , Eat & Repeat

There’s going to be a library corner hosted by Odyssey where they’ll have books on sale {some even by the speakers that you can get signed!}. They’ll even have a couple of engaging food stalls where you can make your own burger and more {restaurants are yet to be finalised}. Expect art installations by some of the speakers too. Oh and at the end of the day, you even get a special goodie bag put together by TEDxChennai and their partners — we can’t reveal too much but there’s going to magnets, bookmarks and a surprise gift in store!

Be Inspired

It’s not just about attending, now is it? It’s hard not to feel inspired, to want to make a change after watching so many inspiring people share their stories and actually getting to talk to them in person! Whether they’re people in a field you’re from or considering moving to, or not, this event is sure to open your mind to a whole new world of possibilities to make a difference!
