What Makes It Awesome

Urvii Mantreh, meaning divine rhythm of the earth, is an online designer label offering luxurious, handcrafted Indian wear for the modern Indian women. Founded by Shimai Jayachandra, an award-winning fashion designer from NIFT, Chennai, this label incorporates art into your attire. Featuring a beautiful blend of the finest craftsmanship from the Indian weaving community and modernized Indian motifs, the quality of the fabrics and the handwork here is par excellence.

For us, it was the sarees that are a clear winner. Featuring intricate weaving with elegant detailing and lovely colour composition, these are simply irresistible. Available in both casual and bridal wear, these come mainly in fabrics like organza, silk cotton and Banarasi weaves.

We also loved the embroidered blouses here that come with the silk cotton sarees. Beautifully reflecting the amazing talent of the workers, these are simply stunning and totally elevate the whole look. They also have lovely dupattas that can add an element of grandeur to any anarkalis, plain kurtas or even simply lehenga cholis, with the banarasi work being our absolute favourite.

Urvii Mantreh works very closely with weaver communities of Balaramapuram, Arani, and Chanderi, which is another fabric this label has made us fall in love with. Available in both sarees and blouses, this exudes an air of royalty and can help you make a style statement at any occasion.

The label also offers intricately hand-painted Kalamkaris, gossamer-fine Kota dorias and bright leheriyas of Rajasthan along with textured tussar silks and simple hand-block printing. Best of Indian weaving indeed!

Pro-Tip

The pricing here is bit on the expensive side but totally worth it if you're looking to invest in an Indian outfit.
