Students in East Delhi Get 10 Mohalla Libraries

The information in this post might be outdated

Started by Bhartiya Akshara Social Organisation {BASO}, Kitabgiri is an initiative that encourages school students to donate their books for mohalla libraries. 10 mohalla libraries have already sprouted in East Delhi, as reported in this article by The Indian Express.

IE also confirms that these libraries have opened in Patparganj, Kondli, Okhla and Laxmi Nagar, and that we can look forward to more than 2,000 of these in every nook and corner of the city in the coming months. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has said that there will be a 25 per cent reduction in the syllabus for students, so they will have more time to visit these libraries. We like!

Other schools from East Delhi like Amity International, Bal Bhavan School, ASN School and Ahlcon School will be contributing to these libraries in every mohalla. We’re saluting this pro-reading step, and are looking forward to seeing more of you at these libraries!
