What is it?
The Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust {SAHMAT} will be organising a day-long event to remember the 27 years of Safdar Hashmi’s martyrdom. It's called Avaaz Do, In Defence of Our Secular Traditions.
Who is it for?
If you are interested in street plays, contemporary Indian dance and performing arts, this is a great way to kick-start the new year.
Why should I go for it?
The event has an eclectic line-up of artists from Delhi and Mumbai, including Astad Deboo. There will also be an art exhibition, music and dance, along with two street plays and a dastangoi performance. The day is meant to mark the coming together of people from varied walks of life, signifying the vibrant and varied fabric of India’s culture.
#LBBTip: There will be food from Old Delhi; also stay tuned for the poster, calendar and book launches at the event.
