4 Literary Festivals to Satisfy your Inner Bookworm this January

Stopping yourself from buying a good book is practically a crime, one that we hope you won't commit at these super interesting literary festivals happening in and around Delhi this month.

Delhi Literature Festival

For those who won't be making it to Jaipur, we have our own literary festival, and its about time it got its due recognition. Find young aspiring authors, as well as established literary mammoths coming together for panel discussions, book readings, book launches, workshops, performances, speaker events, poetry, theatre and cinema.

We’re excited for the likes of Avirook Sen, Madhu Trehan, and Madhulika Liddle. Find their programme here.

World Book Fair

Asia’s biggest book fair is back and is in its 41st edition; organised by National Book Trust of India. The guest of honour this year is China, so you’ll get your hands on some pretty fantastic books, attend interesting seminars and get to see cool Chinese paintings. Stay tuned to know more about tickets et al.

Jaipur Literature Festival

Though not Delhi, Jaipur is close enough for a weekend getaway. With Margaret Atwood, Stephen Fry, Ruskin Bond and more showing up, it’d be a shame for us to miss this. And if not anything else, the occasion calls for some delectable Laal Maas. If you need more reasons to attend this, then this will help you. You can also opt for doing these fun things in Jaipur while you’re there.

Crime Writer’s Festival

We’re going here for sure, since it is such a thrilling opportunity to meet the likes of Jerry Pinto, Avirook Sen and Ravi Subramanian. Noted crime writers, journalists and filmmakers from around the world are going to congregate to talk about crime, murder, serial killers and society. And there will be books of course. This is going to be a fab event for thrill seekers and thriller readers.
