5 Trends That LBB Spied & Loved Best at India Design ID

The information in this post might be outdated

India’s most definitive design week is back with talks and trends done differently. We had a look-see at this year’s pavilions and we just can’t stop 'oohing' and 'aahing'. You definitely don't want to miss this one.

Trends Pavillion

This is one of the most happening destinations at the Design ID this year. Asian Paints announced Colour of the Year, which has travelled from Central Asia to India, through the Levant to the West.

The 13th edition of their annual trend forecast for interiors saw the Madder Red, as one of the primary contenders for decors and interiors. Distilled from madder, manjishtha or Rubia Tinctorum, this is the colour that is going to reign supreme in the design world this year.

Bathroom bonuses

Since Roca is promoting the India Design ID, we saw a lot of inspiration in bathrooms and their decor. Architects and designers are creating bathrooms that are an extension of a person and are more personalised. Sonali Purewal talked about creating bathrooms that have a fantastic view of the outside. Ravi Wazirani, on the other hand, talked about being inspired by fixtures and functionality.

Furniture fun

limonThe Decor Pavilion is seeing a lot of furniture with unique pieces from Warisan, armchair and lounges from Limon, and Mumbai stalwarts, Various at Dhobi Talao. Lots of fun prints are rearing their heads with wooden pieces outdoing themselves. We’re looking at you, Warisan.

While you’re at it, do pick up cushions from Sarita Handa and Iqrup+Ritz.

Installations

The outdoors have some excellent installations. We spied the Old Love by Lekha Washington and Amorphous Surfaces by Rat Lab. Do catch Peek-a-boo Patterns, CMYK Book Store, Studio Wood, Bird Fire, THE PURE CONCEPT and Alex Davis making magic with their installations and art at the event.

If you want to have a fun Ikea-inspired fantasy from 500 Days of Summer, then this is your chance. Lots of beds, living rooms and bathrooms to have fun in!

Food love

carraAs is usual, we must mention all the eateries. This year, you have an array of eating options to choose from. We spied Brown Sugar, Caara Café, Dunkin Donuts, Jugmug Thela, The Park Café and a lot more.
