What Makes It Awesome?

A trip to the Blue City of Jodhpur is a mix experience of culture, colour, architecture, and food.

I started off with the Majestic Mehrangarh and was mesmerised with its intricate architectural details. Walk up to the fort from the lanes of the blue historical city, close to the clock tower in the Sardar market area of Jodhpur. This makes you feel much of a traveller than a tourist. The fort in all its way is the most beautiful one I have explored until now. šŸ˜

On the way down from the fort, towards the left is Jaswant Thada, the graceful marble cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. His son, Maharaja Sardar Singh built this monument known as the Taj Mahal of Marwar. Itā€™s worth a quick visit because of its beauty.

Sardar Market is a must-visit while going around Old Jodhpur region for the finger licking food at Priya Hotel located right at the corner of Nai Sadak. The narrow alleys lead to quaint bazaars selling textiles, antiques, silverware, and handicraft. Keep in mind that taking back gifts for the family is a must when you are travelling. šŸ˜‰

Furthermore, visit the Mandore Gardens and of course, the Royal Heritage Umaid Bhawan, where you can admire the showcase of the royal treasures.

In midst of this, I believe in making an abode away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and this is when I came across this amazing luxury hideaway resort in the middle of nowhere {to be honest} about one hour drive from Jodhpur. The resort is in the interiors, near to Khandi village about 2.5 km into the barren desert land.
Itā€™s a beautiful mud fort-type architecture with aesthetics justifying the royal Rajasthan. Built from scratch in the year 2009 {close to what I remember, as told by my host} itā€™s a perfect hideaway luxury property. The place in all its way is beautiful, there are rooms with private open sky mini pools, fountains, and sun beds. The main pool looks out to the outstretched desert region. Every corner of the property is beautifully decorated with artefacts and wall paintings that have a Rajasthani touch.

It has a top porch with sitting area decorated with white curtains, giving you the best feels while you sip your evening tea and the desert breeze blows into your hair. There is a common seating area, where you can avail all kind of books {if you love reading} to enrich your mind. And if you donā€™t like sitting in the room, you will love the in-built sitting portions in the mud walls built all over the place.

Talking about the food, it's sumptuous with a touch of Indian and Continental, keeping in mind the kind of guests they have on board. Every corner of the resort is photogenic, so all those who like picture-perfect compositions would love it out here.

The hosts are very sweet and the location is a treat to the eyes. A highly recommended place to make your stay worth the royalty of Rajasthan.

What Could Be Better?

Beware of the bugs and mosquitoes. The property is in the midst of a desert jungle, so plan accordingly.
