The Kalsang Ama Cafe on the busy Rajpur Road in Dehradun has interiors which took my breath away. Bricks, wood and concrete juxtaposed with gigantic wallpaper installation of homes and structures in Leh-Ladakh which are lifelike and makes you feel as if you are a part of them. The concrete floor, brick walls and wooden beams coupled with prayer flags, Buddhist inscriptions and rustic furniture give this spacious cafe a surreal look.
And when you look out the shuttered windows at the hills, it feels as if you are transported to the faraway mountains of Ladakh. They have an amazing range of bakery products, coffees and shakes. Their sandwiches and salads and other dishes are also equally delectable.
