Nari Shakti Kendra (NSK) was started in 1964 by Pushpawati Khaitan to provide livelihoods to women by making hand-ground masalas and traditional pickles for other brands, and it was in 2017 that they decided to launch their own label, Aamra. Everything is made in small batches here, using traditional recipes, with a continued focus on innovation and new products.
The outcome is a variety ranging from Chilli Basil Pesto Dip (INR 279 for 185g), Peanut Satay Salad Dressing (INR 249 for 200g) to Dry Mango Pickle (INR 249 for 150g) and Chai Spice Jaggery Seasoning (INR 239 for 65g). Do we hear you smacking your lips already?
Aamra also offers pretty useful gift boxes and combo packs like the Italian Classics Box (INR 999) that includes Tomato Garlic Basil Sauce, Olive Chilli Oregano Sauce, Aglio Oilo Garlic and Chilli Oil, and the Chilli Basil Pesto Dip, and our personal favourite, the Pickles and Chutneys Mini Collection (INR 419) which includes Heeng Aam Pickle, Fresh Lime Pickle, Sweet & Sour Green Chilli Pickle, Sweet & Sour Tamarind Chutney, Mango Cardamom Chutney, and the Chilli Garlic Dip.
