What Makes It Awesome

Got a wedding coming up or need kurtis for casual wear? This designer wear store located inside City Centre Mall in Salt Lake will sort you out.

Anshu Kayal, a seven-year-old city-based brand does Indian and Indo-Western kurtis, gowns, blouses and lehengas. The basic, casual kurtis are sourced from different cities like Delhi and Mumbai but the semi-formal ones are all designed and made in-house. The store stocks a wide range of kurtis, readymade blouses, gowns and lehengas in fabrics like silk, cotton, muslin, georgette, chiffon, bamber, net, dola silk, opara silk and Banarasi silk. A lot of the lehengas that we saw at the store were done using either dola or opara silk.

You'll also find different kinds of embroideries done on the pieces. Ritu Kayal, who owns the store, mostly deals with zardozi, aari, threadwork, sequence, chid, gota patti, stones, cutdaana and badla embroideries. We spotted this stunning brown colour draped dress made out of a chiffon saree with a dhoti pattern at the bottom. It had sequence embroidery done on it and is perfect for a night out with your friends or a cocktail party. Another piece that caught our attention was this powder blue lehenga made of dola silk with aari work done on it. Pair it up with the pink colour net dupatta and you're all set for your BFF's wedding.

Basic kurtis start at INR 1,200 while the semi-formals are priced at INR 5,000 and upwards. Bridal lehengas start at INR 15,000 and go up to INR 60,000.

Pro-Tip

The brand does customisations based on size and design. Saw a bridal lehenga online and want to wear a replica of it? Worry not. Ritu will do it for you. Everything can be customised according to your preferences.
