Do You Seafood & Eat It? This Malayali Food Fest At Bernardo's Beckons!

Parul posted on 19 April

Ten-Second Takeaway

We love G-Town’s Goan restaurant Bernardos for its yum food, but it’s set to get even yummier over the next five days. The restaurant is all set to showcase Malayali cuisine as part of a food fest and it has all the seafood and mutton you can eat, with a cyclic menu so you can go binge, again and again!

Meet The Spice Girls

Prima Kurien, Malayali Cuisine specialist, cooks with an emphasis on Syrian Christian cuisine. Even though Kerala is famous for its repertoire of seafood, poultry and meat, her menu lays equal stress on the flavorful and subtle vegetarian fare from God’s own country. Then there’s, Crescentia Fernandes, Goan cuisine specialist. An Anglo-Indian who grew up in Kerala and then went on to marry a Goan – Crescentia’s kitchen churns out the finest Goan food known to this city!

What’s On The Menu?

The must-try dishes from the cyclic, ten-day food fest include stuff you won’t find every easily, so don’t miss the Kerala-style biryani with pachchadi and poppadum, Mutton/Chicken Oolarthiyarth with idiappam, Meen Vevichathu {fish} with Kappa {Tapioca} and Raw Papaya Curry from Malayali cuisine. From the Goan dishes on the menu, the must-haves include Mackerel Recheado, Traditional Gaon Prawn Curry with Sannas, Pork Chourico with pao and Vegetable Khatkhate.

So, We’re Saying...

Since these are set menus and a lot of the days are likely to be sold out, it’s essential to book in advance. The fest is on till Sunday {Apr 23}.
