Love Birds? Spend Sunday On A Bird Walk At This Sanctuary

Sunaina posted on 9th January

What Is It?

The BNHS Conservation Education Centre, Delhi has something really cool in store for you! They’re organising a fantastic bird walk for all city birders at the Okhla Bird Sanctuary, so pick up those binoculars and head out for some bird sighting.

Who Is It For?

Birding should be for everyone ideally, but there are some bird loving groups in Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad who get together every week for bird watching and various walks. This walk is great if you’re a birder or someone who loves nature and trail walks in general.

Why Should I Go For It?

Delhi gets a great number of migratory birds every season and they’re quite something. Obviously we miss out on them {we hardly even see our city sparrows anymore!}.

Exploring different birds in biodiversity parks is a great way of escaping city madness once a while. There will also be a bird identification activity which will help you learn more about migratory birds that come in to the city.

Anything Else?

Well it’s a three hour bird walk so definitely wear comfortable shoes, carry a pair of binoculars, dress appropriately for Delhi winter mornings and carry a bottle of water! For more info check out their Facebook event page.
