The Ultimate Travelling Camp is an ultra-luxury mobile camp company that allows you to enjoy the experience of camping in a luxury setting, complete with butler service and lavish tents.

What Is It?

The Ultimate Travelling Camp {TUTC} is a luxury camping company {hey, glamping is totally a thing now!} which offers the most comfortable, and unique might we add, luxury experience possible, all while surrounded by dramatic landscapes.

There are three seasonally active camps on the TUTC roster. Two are in Ladakh–Chamba Camp, Thiksey and Chamba Camp, Diskit–and one {the Kohima Camp} in Nagaland.

Chamba Camp, Diskit

Nestled in the beautiful, serene environment of the Nubra valley is the Diskit camp. The natural landscape of the surrounding area is saturated with brilliantly bright hues of white, green and brown. Enjoy the icy peaks in the distance, while relaxing at the camp, or participate in the bespoke tour programmes TUTC has to offer.

There is much to explore in the hamlets of Hundar and Diskit. Scan the scenic landscapes on gorgeous drives, or enjoy the last vestiges of a bygone era by investigating nearby monasteries.

You can take one and two night trips; the camp is operational from May 15 to Oct 10.

Chamba Camp, Thiksey

Nestled in the shadows of the famed Thiksey Monastery, not too far from Leh city, lies the Thiksey camp. Relax in individually designed tents, with private decks and a butler service, or take part in the cultural explorations and activities available. These include monastery tours to Thiksey, Hemis and Alchi, cultural tours to the Old City, and a series of activities such as rafting, polo and archery.

You can book three, four, five or seven night trips. The camp is operational from May 15 to Oct 10.

Kohima Camp, Nagaland

The Nagaland camp proudly showcases the heritage of the Land of the Nagas. Live in the lap of luxury, while immersing yourself in the local culture. Drink Nagaland’s famed rice beer, devour tasty tribal recipes and participate in the unique celebrations at the Hornbill Festival {a ten-day event that coincides with the camp dates}. The colourful festival showcases vibrant performances, crafts, food, games and religious ceremonies.

You can book two, three, four and five night trips. This camp is only operational from Nov 29 to Dec 12 {while the Hornbill Festival is on}.

Smart Tourism

Following the recently popular trend of eco-friendly luxury tourism, TUTC is a sustainable tourism outfit. Ecologically, the TUTC team minimises energy usage, has a sewage treatment plant, and plants a tree for each client. They’ve even introduced social responsibility programmes, and provide employment opportunities, addressing the economic needs of the local population.

Our Say

Lavish and comfortable, the TUTC camps are the perfect confluence of luxury and culture, making it a great camping option for when you have some cash to burn. For those of us who want to travel and experience the outdoors, but without compensating on comfort, TUTC is the right fit.
