What Is It?

This is one gig we are unapologetically kicked about! A cappella is still catching up in this city, so a timely intervention all the way from the States makes sense. TPMJC, known for being Delhi’s cultural window into musical styles and groups from around the world, is playing host to Yale’s Out of The Blue.

For the uninitiated, Out of the Blue {OOTB, pronounced OOT-bah} is Yale University’s award-winning contemporary a cappella group, known for its tight vocals and electric performance style.

Who Is It For?

Music lovers, and those who enjoy vocals, polyphony, a cappella, and, omg beat boxing. Go for inspiration, or for sheer listening pleasure. OOTB delivers power packed performances with much drama, which is both endearing and fascinating to watch! We’re glued to their Youtube channel.

Why Should I Go For It?

Founded in 1986 by a group of eight students, Out of the Blue has evolved into Yale’s most dynamic vocal group, entertaining audiences near and far with an eclectic repertoire of current and classic pop, rock, R&B, jazz, and dubstep. If you enjoy of these genres, you should go. If you don’t, you should probably still go.

An event like this calls for a bit of dressing up! Also, they’re all students; do give them your appreciation and encouragement.

Anything Else?

OOTB has performed in diverse and exotic venues, from the United States Embassy in Singapore to Madison Square Garden in New York City. The group has opened for major recording artists like Ben Folds and performed for Nobel laureates and Supreme Court Justices.
