Camel Rides, Puppet Shows & Magic: Find A Little Piece Of Rajasthan Just An Hour Away From The City
Padharo Mahre Des
If you’ve been missing out on time with the fam, be sure that Chokhi Dhani is the perfect place to take them, because of its pastoral simplicity and the effort that’s been put into creating a little piece of Rajasthan just an hour away from Delhi.
When you enter the place, an extremely friendly staff will greet you with welcome drinks, and make sure your time here is fantastic and memorable. The art on the mud huts with thatched roofs, the old-school lanterns and the village-like atmosphere created by the staff dressed in Rajasthani attire is not just picturesque for social media posts, but also makes sure that you get to see a glimpse of how the villages function.
Watching the puppeteer tell age-old stories and seeing the magician perfecting his tricks is something we’ve all enjoyed since we were kids, and Chokhi Dhani gives you the chance to enjoy all of it once again. The camel ride is also a mini-adventure of sorts, and makes for a rather memorable activity, especially if you are with the fam. Watch a live fire performance and artists dancing to Rajasthani beats with matkas on their head. If you want to get on the activity side of things, they have the classic bhul bhulaiya, skill games and even live pottery-making sessions!
A Simple Meal
Enjoy a typical, Rajasthani meal served on plates made out of leaves. The menu is actually a mix of vegetarian Rajasthani and North Indian dishes. For an authentic Rajasthani experience, we say you opt for their bajra roti, Jodhpuri besan gatta or even better, have the classic dal batti churma! They serve it with some flavorful lehsun ri chutney and dhaniya ri chutney which you should not miss out on. The best part about this place is that the cost of your meal is included in the cost of the ticket, which is priced at just INR 700! The staff here won’t let you leave till you’ve indulged in enough activities and have had a filling meal.
So, We're Saying...
If you’ve been looking to go back to the simple ways of village life even if just for a few moments, make a plan for Chokhi Dhani.
