Chilling at a brewpub or bar is no longer only about food and beverage, there’s that whole novelty factor that comes into play as well. So, when you’re promised a cruise experience on land, you put that beer down and listen.

All Aboard Takamaka

Tall bar stool chairs, solid wood tables, vintage memorabilia and a large screen with a corner for live music, tied together by the cruise ship concept, Takamaka takes you from a regular bar to a rooftop deck in no time. Don’t miss the lifesavers over the bar and the metal pipe railings, after all you’re on a ship {on land!}. If you’re looking for a more cosy experience, then choose the couch tables.

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Start with craft beers – apart from the Taka Special Brew, the Wheat Beer is perfect for the summer. Check out the cocktails too; we suggest you skip the classics and try the Ginnamon {with gin, cranberry juice and cinnamon} and the hugely tropical Mai Tai made with rum. They even have a beer cocktail menu and a party bowl menu of two and four litre cocktail bowls for those of you partying in groups.

Skip the salads and pair the brews with the Chilli Butter Prawns and Deep Fried Filo Rolls. For those of you that prefer Indian flavours, they have kebabs and tikkas too and the Tandoori platters are super value for money.

For mains, choose from Indian and Continental options; we loved the Dal Makhni and Nihari Gosht as much as we loved the Fish & Chips and pizzas. Close the evening with Chocolate Puri with Paan which is possibly the most unusual dessert we’ve had in a while!

So, We're Saying...

Cruise through the summer with G-Town’s newest brewpub where the food and drinks are equally good – a rare feat.
