Do You Plan Travel Around Food? This Culinary Weekend In Nainital’s For You

Rene posted on 14th March

What Is It?

EatWithIndia is hosting a well-curated culinary tour of Nainital that’s aimed at exploring the local culture and food over two whole days {March 25 and 26}. You’ll stay at the dreamy Abbotsford Heritage Homestay for the night and spend your day treating yourself to authentic Kumaon cuisine.

Who Is It For?

Like we said, it’s for people who like travelling and sampling local food. It’s also for peeps who are trying to sneak in a getaway without asking their cranky bosses for leave {you’ll be out only on Saturday and Sunday}. And needless to say, there are a few of us who don’t even need a reason to flee to the hills.

Why Should I Go For It?

It’s an activity-packed short trip that’s in the mountains. So you won’t just breathe fresh but also get to sample wholesome food from the local organic market alongside having chai with your pahadi neighbours. In fact, every big and small meal including the tea-time snacks will comprise the Kumaon folks’ local delicacies.

The most exciting bit? They’ve also got a cooking demo around a bonfire and imagine being around fellow foodies who can go on and on discussing flavours and delicate nuances without judging you for your appetite.

Anything Else?

Make sure you make the most of this retreat and get back lots of food stuff from the local market tour.

You leave at the crack of dawn {5.45am} and take the Shatabdi to Kathgodam so it might be a good idea to hit the bed early on that Friday night.
