Curated Indian Designer Wear at Ole Couture

Say what you want, but weddings will always be an important part of our years, lives and days. Tradition aside {although we hold those in high esteem}, the pairing of ensembles with accessories and the endless discussions on wedding attire never get old. You know what helps? Finding a whole array of designer wear, accessories and shoes under one roof. That’s why we’re ever thankful for Ole Couture.

One of the first stores when you walk into Hauz Khas Village, Ole Couture is known for its vast collection of clothes {mostly Indian, some western}, all hand-picked by Shivani Madan, who is responsible for bringing a large spectrum of designers to her space. We’re talking names like Samant Chauhan, Pooja Shroff, Nimai, Reboot and many more. You can find over 18 designers in the store at any given point of time – whether it’s for clothes, jewellery or every girl’s best friend – shoes.

Whether you’re looking to invest in a velvet lehenga with heavy zari and zardozi work, or you’re more inclined towards understated chikankari pieces, you’ll be able to find them all at Ole. They house western silhouettes as well – palazzo pants with gota work and kurtas in bright colours that are light, but just the right amount of dressy. Pramita Pandey, Ilk by Shikha and Vinita and 5X by Ajit Kumar often find their place in the boutique. These designers work with silhouettes that are free-flowing, with contemporary structures, while using traditional motifs and forms of embroidery as embellishments.

The cherry on our sundae is that with each designer that is stocked, at least ten pieces of the collection are brought in {we’re betting it’s the best ten}, providing ample variety that is constantly updated. They keep up with the trends and times, so your style will be on-point if you pick up a piece or two from here. Even if you don’t have a wedding to attend, and just have a fancy soiree lined up, you can shop for separates, and put together an ensemble that works for you.

For all our Indian wear and ware, we’re bookmarking Ole Couture. In the heart of our city, delightfully spacious, easily accessible and well-curated. A pretty penny no doubt, but worth it, if you ask us.
