In a very, very welcome {and long over-due} move, Transport Minister Gopal Rai has revealed that the Delhi government has decided to go ahead and install CCTV cameras, and provide Wi-Fi to commuters on DTC buses.

The important thing? Yes, the Wi-Fi will be free. {Unfortunately, they are looking to make people pay for it eventually}.

In the first phase, both AC and non-AC low-floor buses will be fitted with both cameras and Wi-Fi; 200 buses have already been fitted with CCTV cameras that can record up to seven hours of footage.

The government aims to complete the entire project by December; here’s hoping for a safer Dilli!
