Delhiites, Do Not Miss This: 'Power To Empower: An Initiative For A Better Future!'

We're sure everyone has heard of Alibaba, the world's first Internet company that integrates philanthropy as part of its core. Their foundation, the Alibaba Foundation, initiated the '9.5 Philanthropy Week' in 2017 as an attempt to call all members of society to spend a certain part of their day on philanthropic activities. Hosted by Tisca Chopra, actor and author, the forum brought together several outstanding and global leaders including, Atishi, Member, Political Affairs Committee, Aam Aadmi Party, Huaiyuan Yang, Vice President of UCWeb, Alibaba Innovation Initiatives Business Group, Richa Chadha, Bollywood actor, Alka Malhotra, Communication for Development Specialist UNICEF and many more. In accordance to Alibaba's initiative, UC is initiating the concept of “Internet Plus Philanthropy”- a transparent and effective model that will use the power of the internet to mobilize all to participate in a good cause.” Held at the Oberoi Hotel on September 5th, this event had everyone listening with rapt attention. 

With interiors that are inspired by Sir Edward Lutyen’s architecture {for those who still don’t know, that’s the Brit architect who designed the ‘new’ of Delhi}. Their rooms promise gorgeous views of either the Delhi Golf Course greens or Humayun’s Tomb. With 24-hour business and fitness centres, a spa, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, guests can expect getting spoilt rotten under their care. There are four restaurants in this hotel, apart from the bar and the cigar lounge of which Cirrus9, their open-air rooftop bar and Enoteca, the temperature controlled wine cellar at the lobby level {with specially curated selection of wines and champagnes} are on our must-see lists.

It's absolutely free entry and this event left us wanting desperately to do our bit for the society. We learnt that each child and everybody deserves equal right to education and a better life!
