A new batch of 30 Labrador Retriever dogs have been formally inducted in to the Delhi Police dog squad. Police have said that, of these dogs, 20 are experts in detecting explosive materials, while 10 are skilled in finding clues at crime spots.

The dogs were bought on March 18 from the army’s Remount & Veterinary Corps based in Meerut. Now, there are a total of 60 dogs in the squad. That’s a far cry from the 10 dogs they originally had in 1960.
