Clean and green
Devang House is all about holistic living and going back to our Ayurvedic roots; the restaurant makes use of homegrown ingredients {spinach, iceberg lettuce and wheatgrass} along with ingredients sourced from the best farms in and around Delhi to create dishes that are high on nutrition, without compromising on the taste.
Of rice, spice and health in disguise
Head chef Priyam Kumar whips up some wonders with these ingredients, proving to us that healthy does not need to be bland. We started with an Apple Cider Shot {for digestive purposes} followed by soft freshly-baked bread and lavash served with home-made pesto and Pumpkin Rasam Soup, which was spicy and served with a tiny bowl of rice. Order the Soul Bowl of the day and you’ll be presented with comfort food {along the lines of rajma and lobia}.
For dessert, the carrot cake and sooji halwa were both winners for us. We also heard a lot about their smoothies and banana pancakes, in case you want to make a brekkie visit.
Music, meditation and more
Devang House has more to offer than just food; owner Pranav Chaudhry plans to host as many cultural events as possible, including yoga sessions, cooking workshops, music and dance performances, poetry readings etc. The bigger picture is to go back to the lifestyle our ancestors swore by {think Ayurveda and all things organic and yes, the inclusion of ghee in our everyday meals}.
