Ten-Second Takeaway

Planning to throw a cards party this Diwali but don’t know where to start arranging for the grub? Let us help—LBB has curated a list of food caterers to bookmark for this season, so if nothing else works, you can still send your guests into a food coma.

The Basil Kitchen

You can take the chef out of Olive, but you can’t take Olive out of the chef. Raman Kohli leaves the restaurant kitchen to start his own thing, without leaving behind any of the finesse. With plating being an integral part of the fine-dining experience here, his boys dish up Masterchef-style, including a pomegranate base in shot glasses featuring a mouth-watering mutton seekh.

What not to miss—the lychee shot with wasabi and feta.

Price: Starts at INR 1,500 per plate for a minimum of 35 people; goes up to INR 10,000 per plate for menus including sushi, caviar and imported meats

Asian Haus Catering Service

Asian Haus

There’s nothing more reassuring than when a tried-and-tested restaurant extends itself to catering services. Asian Haus specialises in oriental and south-east Asian cuisine, requires a minimum of 15 attendees, and will send across live stations, a catering manager, and chefs along.

Based on your attendee list and their food habits, they’ll curate a special menu, do a site visit, and, best of all, work around your proposed budget. Their USP is a live dim sum station, and there’s no going wrong with that.

Price: On request, and as per your menu and budgetary requirements

XO Catering By Design

These are the guys behind Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s much-talked-about Mehendi brunch. XO attends to every service-related requirement, along with a fabulous menu. We’re talking waiters in crisp white uniforms and gloves, fine china and theme-based presentation (all part of the price).

Besides Indian (Mughlai, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Coastal, Parsi, Kashur Wazwan and Bengali), European grills, Spanish, Italian, Mediterranean and Oriental (Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese), they also do champagne lunches and cocktails.

Price: On request, depending on your menu and the number of people.

Serviceable Areas: Across Delhi NCR

The Supper Club

Chef Savar Duggal has many a notch under his belt (Le Cordon Bleu, the Four Seasons, Olive, and Diva). Before the party, they start with a food sampling and go on to making a customised menu along with help on ambience, decor, and other party details.

They cater small, intimate dinners, and go all the way up to massive parties. The services include live stations, chefs (including Chef Duggal himself) and servers. They can do BBQ’s, Italian and Mediterranean canopies (featuring finger food and small bites), and Sri Lankan and Mangalorean food.

Bedazzled By Anandna Bhasin

A more homestyle, less-formal catering service, bookmark Bedazzled for home parties and more casual get-togethers, given that their maximum is less than 50 people. Their forte has been tea soirees and brunches. Chef Anandna specialises in Thai, Chinese and Lebanese cuisines, all of which come packed in their own boxes and containers. For instance, if you're looking at a party of around 20 folks, their non-vegetarian package would include five to six starters, a couple of main course dishes and desserts. It entirely depends upon the kind of menu you choose. Service is a department you’ll have to take care of yourself here, unfortunately.

Price: Starting at around INR 700-800 per head

Harry's Gourmet Catering

Harry’s Gourmet Catering takes care of everything, starting from the venue decoration to fresh food arrangement. They do a special Diwali menu and also prepare delicious sweets, which you can get packed and send home with your guests. The best part - these folks curate the entire menu according to your taste and liking.

Price: INR 2,000 per head but if the gathering is for 50 people or more, the prices are discounted to INR 1,500 per head. The more, the merrier!

Serviceable Areas: Across Delhi NCR

ThaiCrate

ThaiCrate takes great pride in its packaging and delivering. If you’re looking for something different for your Diwali party, you could give them a call. They’re willing to prepare fresh Thai fare for up to 25 people. If you're hosting a party for less than 30 guests, you could order their Party Boxes where they deliver food in two shifts - firstly the appetizers, followed by the main course.

As for the services, although it’s not part of their package, they’re willing to arrange something provided you give them ample notice.

Price: Starting at INR 850 per head (approx.)

Serviceable Areas: Across Delhi NCR.

LBB Tip: Their Lamb in Massaman Curry is a must-order.

Saloni's Kitchen

From Kashmiri, North Indian and the good ol' homestyle dishes to international cuisines like Italian, French, Greek, Mexican and more - Saloni's Kitchen offers it all. For a large gathering, they offer services (including crockery and everything) but if you're having a small party, they can bring cooked food and heat it up at your convenience. Depending on the headcount and the menu, these folks will give you a price per head.

Price: Roughly the prices start at INR 1,500 (without services) and INR 2,000 to 2,400 per head if you include extra services.

Serviceable Areas: Across Delhi NCR

HolyBelly

Exquisite French, British and European cuisine with delectable French parties and desserts, HolyBelly is great when it comes to ordering food during hosting a large gathering. Run by two incredible (read Le Cordon Bleu-trained) chefs, Janeya and Rishi, these folks are devoted to creating killer menus for any and every event.
