After 26 Years, Dog Squad to March on Republic Day

We're all in for a treat this Republic Day.

As reported by the Hindustan Times, after 26 long years out of the limelight, a squad of army dogs will march during the parade.

The 36-member squad is made up of German Shephards and Black and Golden Labradors. The squad and their trainers, with whom they share an intense bond, have been waking up at 2am almost daily to squeeze in practice, and walk nearly 12km every time. Each session naturally ends with a 45 minute grooming session for the dogs.

We loved the matching uniforms between dog and trainer, and the fact that each trainer will carry biscuits in their pockets, as a post-Parade treat, for their canine companions.
