The Siliserh Lake is undoubtedly a must-visit location while you are in Alwar. Situated quite far from the main city, this beautiful place is surrounded by mountains. The lake looks amazing especially during rains (we visited during the monsoon season). It makes for a good place to enjoy chai and pakode with an amazing view. The nearby hotel is run by the government but serves good pakode and chai. Beware of the monkeys around as they usually cause a nuisance. This place is one of the best places to visit over the weekends, and the best part is that it's nearby Delhi NCR. Try to take the Palwal route because the roads are good and less busy. The Tauru road is in bad condition and leads to some unknown villages. Like boating? You can opt for boating at the lake it, starts at INR 100 per person and stays open till 8 pm. We went in the afternoon around 2.30 pm in the monsoon so we couldn't do it. But the lake is huge, and there are small hills around it. Oh, and you can book your one-day stay at Siliserh Palace via Tour My India, Yatra or Trip Advisor, they have AC and non-AC rooms and suites are available.
