Sakura {cherry blossom} are known to bloom between March to early May every year all over Japan and needless to say, it’s considered a time of celebration. Japanese restaurant En is aiming to bring this celebration to the capital with a special menu.

The En-treesOne of the finest Japanese restaurants in the city, En has recently launched a temporary menu to celebrate the Sakura festival. Comprising about 11 different dishes, the fare is bound to leave you feeling satiated without feeling like your buttons are going to pop.
We started with the Miso soup, flavoursome and infused with tofu. This was followed by an amuse bouche of Temari Sushi with cherry blossom and pickled vegetables, which was essentially a rice ball flavoured with cherry blossom- drizzle some soya on this, we’d say.
You can also opt for the Yakitori skewers {we’d recommend doing so} for an additional INR 250 full of okra, mushroom, chicken balls and chicken leg.
En-joy Some Seafood & SweetThe main course consisted of a Baked Saikyou Miso Mackerel served with pak choi, pickled vegetables and Japanese steamed rice. As opposed to the starters which filled us up, the main course was {thankfully} pretty small.
We ended the meal with a stunning Sakura Cake and Panacotta with sakura jelly. This was possibly our favourite part of the meal.
We then washed it all down with a bowl of Japanese green tea- just in time for an afternoon siesta.
PS: They also have an all-vegetarian menu comprising vegetables tempura, sautéed tofu and Teppan green vegetables with garlic butter.
