What Is The Deccan Odyssey?
The resplendent Deccan Odyssey is a luxury train with 21 stunning royal coaches, that winds its way through well-planned, diverse journeys.
It has two restaurants–Peshwa 1 and Peshwa 2–and a stocked bar known as Mumbai-Hi. There are four Presidential Suites, 11 guest Deluxe cabins and a specially equipped cabin for differently-abled guests. If that wasn’t enough there’s even a spa– Plumeria–and a conference car, Samvad.
What Are Their Trips?
The Deccan Odyssey offers six major luxury trips. They are the Maharashtra Splendor Indian Sojourn, Jewels of the Deccan, Hidden Treasures of Gujarat, Indian Odyssey and the Maharashtra Wild Trail.
For Delhi travellers, the two ideal trips are the Indian Sojourn and the Indian Odyssey.
Indian Sojourn
The eight-day journey begins in Mumbai and ends in Delhi, going through Vadodara, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur. Follow this track through the sites of ancient and historic kingdoms; the momuments of Vadodara, the palaces of Udaipur and the Taj Mahal in Agra.
The vibrant and bustling city of Jaipur, tiger tracking in Ranthambore and glimpses of Bishnoi culture in Jodhpur complete this journey.
Indian Odyssey
This trip starts in Delhi and ends in Mumbai, visiting Ranthambore, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Vadodara. Like the Sojourn journey, you can experience the architectural spectacles of Agra, Vadodara, Jaipur and Ranthambore. Enjoy the recipes of the royal kitchens of Vadodara and Rajasthan and explore the colourful markets in Rajasthani cities.
Unlike the Sojourn journey, Odyssey offers the chance to visit the wondrous caves of Ellora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on the second-last day of the trip.
