Shortcut

The simple and unobtrusive Forsyth’s Lodge lies at the edge of the Satpura Tiger Reserve. 12 individual cottages surrounded by the forest make for the perfect getaway to appreciate nature in all its glory.

What Do I Do There?

The property offers a whole range of activities to indulge in. Whether it is the bonfire and stargazing sessions with their guides, walks to the picturesque village nearby, or watching a tiger documentary, you can be sure there will never be a dull moment.

Wild Life

One of the biggest attractions of the lodge is its proximity to the reserve. The Satpura Tiger Reserve is unspoilt and the jungle experience here stands out from its counterparts. A traditional Gypsy safari allows you to cover more ground, and the chances of spotting wildlife are higher. You’ll be able to catch a wide selection of animals – from herds of Sambar to colourful jungle fowl and even sloth bears. In some parts of the forest you can leave the Gypsy behind and even go it on foot.

Forest, Then Food

The chefs at Forsyth’s offer up king-size meals – both Indian and continental. You can have brunch at the table, dinner around a bonfire, barbeque on the terrace, or opt for a candlelit dinner in the bushes – just ask. For the more adventurous, try the food made by the village women; dal batti cooked the traditional way and baingan ka bharta!

Parting Notes

Go to Forsyth’s and Satpura if you appreciate a complete jungle experience. It’s a place where the little stories of the forest will be pieced together for you; where you can spend an entire day in the wilderness and meet only three other people! Take in the beauty of the park – a monkey’s playground in its interconnected strangling vines, crocodile bark trees, and eerily-white ghost trees, along with a sudden explosion of expansive grasslands.
