Freakin Beans was sadly overflowing with coffee drinkers so we decided to give its new neighbour cafe a chance. Happy to say, all went well at the oddly named Playing Cup Cafe. Their KitKat Koffee was amaze, the sandwiches were homely and the board games meant we killed a lot of time under their super effective AC.

Game Face On

This eatery is Kindergarten-classroom-meets-cool-shake-joint. It’s peppy and perfect if you’re not looking to be out in the rains/sun while indulging in a friendly match. The menu is a mix of sandwiches, smoothies, shakes, coffee and iced teas… In short, typical cafe fare.

We got ourselves a KitKat Koffee that was a beautiful marriage of crushed chocolate and coffee – neither overwhelmingly sweet nor bland. The strawberry shake was equally comforting on a hot afternoon. Both the sandwiches we got {Cheese and Corn and Cheese and Jalapeno} had that homemade quality that makes us miss good ol’ summer vacations at granny homes. If you ask us, we didn’t exactly miss our tried-and-tested Freakin Beans.

The bit that really takes the cake here? You might lose at the foosball table but you’ll never be a loser in the bill department. A glass of fresh lime soda, for instance costs INR 49 and KitKat Koffee is for INR 129 and no extra taxes cuz’ GST.

So, We're Saying...

Grab a cup of elaichi chai or a heavy duty protein shake on-the-go sometime. They’ve got a shake with Gems and Chocolate Chips that we’re ordering on our next visit.

If you need another reason to go, they’re going to be ready with waffle sandwiches after the 17th. Sadly, we couldn’t get a bite because their waffle maker was having an off day. Maybe if you call and confirm, you’d be safe.
