This App Gets You Cheap Drinks & New Friends At City Bars

Bar-o-meeter {BOM} aims to add some fun into your life by offering food deals across restaurants, along with the chance to find nearby friends and even initiate conversations with other BOM users.

The app creators have tied up with a whole bunch of restaurants, cafes and pubs across town to introduce standardised meal deals that can be availed once you show your app at these venues.

You can get started by choosing the “value” or “premium” option that’ll narrow your results and let you pay for combo deals via PAYtm or PayUMoney.

The good news: It lets you book deals by paying just INR 150 – 300. The bad news: It sometimes hangs, leaving you wondering if you’re really getting all that cheap booze or not.

Combo deals like “2 starters + 8 beers/IMFL” for four people can be availed by paying INR 200 at any of the nine partner venues including Cocktail House {GK 1}, Kinbuck 2 {CP}, My Bar {GK 1}, Junglee Billee {GK 1}, The Chatter House {Khan Market} and four others in Rajouri Garden, Nehru Place and Saket.

…Jokes can get more exciting when you allow the Baromeeter app to introduce you to fellow app users with whom you can then choose to connect {resist the urge to be creepy, though}. You can also find out if any of your friends have checked in into the same bar.

This makes a lot of business sense if you’re going out in a group of two-six people, all of who want to have a great time without worrying about emptying their bank accounts.
